Our Curriculum

BA. B.Ed. integrated course combines BA (Bachelor of Arts) and B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education). A BA is an undergraduate degree programme that can be pursued after completion of 10+2. While a B.Ed. or Bachelor of Education is a postgraduate degree. Candidates who want to enroll in it are required to complete an undergraduate degree programme in any specialisation. The main component of this programme is especially about ‘learning by doing’ and also classroom teaching. Divided in four years, the undergraduate course provides an in- depth knowledge of subjects related to Art and Professional Studies. The course gives students an experience in communication skills and teaching.

The resource departments works as resource body which monitors status of concerned disciplines in which syllabus of the university and brings about necessary modification whenever
it needs. Each department consists of a Board of studies which has the power to do timely assessment, modification or restructuring of the curriculum.

The CFR is an exclusive platform of scholars formed to deal with different kinds of contemporary issues and analyze it from an Islamic perspective. CFR receives questions on newly emerging issues demanding religious guidelines after analyzing the same through the prism of Islamic Jurisprudence.

The main objectives of the NIRS are to develop a methodology for research in the various fields of Islamic learning; to identify contemporary problems and to study/interpret the teachings of Islam in the context of the intellectual and scientific progress of the modern world in order to assist the Indian society and the Muslim Ummah to live according to the imperatives of Islam.

The results of the work are published in NIRS’s Tamil, Arabic, Urdu and English quarterly journals; books; monographs and research reports. The Institute also organises seminars, conferences and
workshops to achieve and promote its objectives.
